this is the second part of the examination into the teachings of jan bosh off , i have chosen 2 video too look into for this examination they are "sinning believers" and "spiritually transformedsons of God"
the first video "sinning believers"
jan states ... among believers ... there are some children of God and there are some children of satan .. those who are of the seed of Christ are like christ, they are born again, and sin no more .. they walk in righteousness but they are stumbling blocks
My response
notice what is said above "among believers.. there are some children of God and there are some children of satan"
we have to ask on what authority he has made this judgement .. its not scripture
since the true believers can not be of darkness but light as John says in 1 john 1 5-6
" is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth"
if some one is of the devil he is an unbeliever since he has no truth in his soul
if you are of the seed of christ .... then you are a born again believer in christ .. christ himself is not born again, he himself is the goal of regeneration
a believer is one whose soul is transformed into a new creature .. but his flesh is still living in the sinful world
in 1 john 3 :7 -10
"Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's] seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother."
in this passage we learn that a man can sin even after being saved ... , born again due to the flesh
a little more understanding on this
look at the words of john here ... "No one born of God makes a practice of sinning" .. it say the regenerate believer does not make a practice of .... what can we gather from this ... obviously reading into this is not a good thing but let the text speak .. it is says we regenerate make no habits ... habits are contual things .. a practice is a habit, it does not say the regenerate won't sin at all .. it just state he or she won't make a habit of doing so "for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God"
agian john makes a distinction of a continual act of sinning .. a habit .. and that of a time when we sin only once .. if this is a divine truth revealed from the father by the spirit in the name of christ ... then we as believers must see that we can and do sin .. even though it is not our intent or desire ... since we live in a fallen world -- we have not at this moment been glorified
also consider the words of romans 8 :1 -7
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
the only stumbling block in all of this is jan bosh off
his teaching are anti biblical in nature, anti christ to a tee .. meaning they do not originate from the same source that the sacred scriptures .. they can not call what he teaches Godly at all
as paul states in 2 timothy 3 1 -5 (pay attention to vs 4 -5) since this discription fits jan boshoffs teaching perfectly
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people
it is interesting to note that jan uses a biblical phrase to describe the biblical christian "stumbling block" if only he had referenced the whole passage he would have seen it is a false application the words "but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God"
also note jan believes no one is truly saved till the final moment ... according to pauls words above this man is perishing .. due to pauls thought that you are saved already by christ
" even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved" .. meaning that this is something that happens to a man in this life ... not at a later time .. jans belief is very like the mormon belief of being saved after all you can do ... you will never know for sure in this life
which means as a christian he believe you are persish .. and paul disagrees
jans scriptural trick is to use matthew 13 :1 -43 ... to make his case
but what he fails to note is that matt 13 .. the whole chapter speaks to parables explaining the kingdom of God ... true believers against false believers, christ purpose in coming
but the specific one he focus' on is the parable of the end time .. the result of sin and the law breaker
question : does jan actually follow Jesus or is he a law breaker
a person who keeps on sinning .. is a stumbling block .. he is not a son of God ... he can quote the bible and act / pretend to be a believer but by the fruit you will know them .. they are not righteous
can we have some consistency ....
he once claimed that no one is a saved believer yet he wants to dine on the hill of a believer not being a son of God if they sin
think what this means
either they are not saved, meaning they are not a child of God .. or youare a son of God meaning you have to be saved
in another video called "spiritually transformed sons of God" he clams the following
when we are born again we are not children of God .. we are children of this earthand need to become children of God in order to be able to go into the kingdom of God
john 1 :12 ... "as many did recieve him (Jesus) to them he gave the right to become children of God , even to those who believe in his name"
john 3 :3 ... "Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” "
romans 8 :7 -14 "For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God"
if we are not born again and recieve the spirit of God, then then we can not be spiritual people and we can not be led by the holy spirit
My response
firstly .... when we recieve the holyspirit we recieve the act of regeneration (born again) this can be seen in all the above mentioned passages ...
for example
3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
here we are told of the life renewing act of regeneration .. you must allow all the passage speak for its self and define it own meaning something jan will not do
when we consider the context we learn the following
the spirit of God works in accord to his own will / desire and for prespective person he is born again when the spirit first enters into him, not before or after but upon arrival this is the time one becomes a child of God
the biblical spiritual life is due to being born again / born of the spirit .. the spirit revitalises you, (regenerates), renews you from a child of darkness to a child of light, from a child of sin to a child of grace ... in this one comes to hate their sin nature (jn 16 : 8 -11) (by this i do not mean we are re incarnated) but we are truly changed through sanctification of the spirit as the second step
and romans 8 :1 -8, 12 -17 are reflective of this transition in a believers life
since john says in 1 john
5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.(1 john 1)
the one who denies he has sinned is a liar and has not got his word in him is the anti christ
Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother (1 john 3)
the second scripture refers to the spirit filled part of the person who does not sin, not the natural part since it has not been fully transformed
also consider a video title the false grace video .. where he state this .. "Many people are victims of what they call THE GRACE GOSPEL, that we are saved by grace. Dear friends there is only one thing that saves us and that is obedience to Jesus Christ" .. having time to consider what this actually means .. is that God does not save man unless man first does something to make God interact .. this is the false gospel of mormon who say you are saved, after all you can do .. this also show that jan is not a child of God yet .. is not saved, and is preaching a false gospel
