9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practise homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God -- (1 Corinthians 6).
This is another passage that the homosexual apologists take apart and wrecks Paul's whole point; this passage is taking about the past act of man before he is redeem in Christs blood and is a beautiful truth.
Matthew Vines will go to this passage and ignore the a very important and vital point in the passage and force it to be about christian s loving relation between same sex unions but this is a false application to the passage:
First we should note, this starts with Paul making a point of showing the sinful acts that the unregenerate person will do; will not allow one to be given right to enter into heaven. And these are them,
neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practise homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."Here we see a list of things that God will not allow to enter, as revelation ends with that new Jerusalem will be cleaned of these such acts. paul uses two words here that are very important to focus on "sexually immorality," and "nor men who practise homosexuality." The first can imply many unnatural sexual exploitations; but the second is very direct: homosexual behaviour.
To come away from this text and say that christians can be homosexual is to go against the gospel call to new life; when they are clearly shown to the past anti Godly act of the unregenerate person; it is against Gods will.
Secondly, now to the point Matthew Vines misses deliberately, "And such were some of you" these words divided all believers in former categories Paul had previously mentioned; these act were who you were before but they are thing that you can no longer be
since it twists Paul's whole message, that our past sinful lives should not be something that we as born of the spirit believers can do -- lets consider this fantastic truth to come
"But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God"What this means is this? The one who lived all the above ways are now and were .. "washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ" this a lease of new life that makes you a new creature in Christ. One who can no longer practise "neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practise homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers." There is no such thing a homosexual practising christian .. it is not true Christianity .. it is a perversion of God model as Christ states, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh"

As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, 4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. 5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Certain ...persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, 7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions. 8 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted (1 timothy 1)
Here we have another text which is mangled by the men who practise homosexual relations; in all the text we have discussed, Romans 1 , 1 Corinthians 6, and now here in 1 timothy 1 but before we get to the last section we need to get into the first part
As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faithIn this introduction to the whole passage, we are given some categories in reference to false teachings and we will see why this is an important factor in the whole passage which is focused on false doctrines.
the categories: "myths," "endless genealogies," and "speculations." no matter how one looks at it; Paul is saying that in many cases false teachings will fall into many categories and these are just some, or possible these are the major ones
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them (acts 20:28-30)Here is Paul giving a warning against falsehood coming a prevalent thing in this time and paul .. and paul ministers to his brothers in faith to be on guard. this seems to fit in with 1 timothy. The words, "rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith" here we have something interesting; Paul states true service comes from God and this is by faith; it does not come from man in any sense. If this act of worship and devotion is by faith and yet comes from God; then faith is likewise a divine function over against the false teaching categories above which purely come from a deceptive heart, the man.
The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion,Paul makes an important aspect of apologetic undertaking; it should be done in love and not out of hate and malice. But above this we need to see that all false teachings as vain discussion: meaning they are worthless.
Note in both of these parts; this has been focusing on "Certain persons" who intentionally ignore or misapplies the truth, show they do not have a "pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith."
desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions. Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfullyThe first thing to make a comment on is the words in verse 7 think about what it says, "without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions" These people have no real understanding of the law and how it works, so in their perversed manner they make claims and assertions that can not be contextually supported.
One thing that comes to mind is the perversion of the so called "gay christian movement," which seeks to gain biblical support for their ungodly behaviour; where none can be found in a straight forth approach. Therefore, they have the desire to twist the manner of Paul's words to allow a born again christian be gay. More on this in a moment.
And here in Paul's words spoken through the Spirit of God, "Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully" he makes the point the law is GOOD, the law is perfect in its application, for what God intended it for. The problem is that man is not perfect and in this man cannot idealistically fulfil the demands of the law but God alone can; hence it points to Jesus the one and only son of God the unique one of God.
The old testament is full of many occasions where men fail to live up to the law; in the case of David and Bathsheba , Solomon and his idolatry and many others including the Israelites going off after some false god .. numbers 25 and 31.
understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practise homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrustedPaul here start with a imperative and a truth "that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient," the law was given to show the ungodly there sin; if man is just they did not need the law but man is not just in of himself. All men are sinners, the only one who do not live in the way the law are Christian for they are in Christ and under the new covenant.
The law was given to instruct us of our sinful natures; it revealed this. All these things listed in the list "for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practise homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers" these are seen as being unsound things to teach on as being good things that are sound doctrine is in accord to the the gospel; but to profane the use of the law and what is prohibits for us to do is to show great dishonour to God and how he created us to be.

5 Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them..., since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 1)
Here there is a useful passage which speaking to unnatural living, in all its areas of example. Lets examine this
Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believeA throw back to Exodus and the implications of people who did not believe in the Lord; this does not tells the nature of why they did not believe. Like if it was their own doing or if it was due to the hardening of their hearts -- an out
Jude has no problem with putting to acts at the hand of God, saving some and destroying others. And this is what happened every time the Israelite rebelled. God made them suffer the consequences.
And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great dayAs God punishes mankind for their dishonourable acts of rebelling, he too punishes angels who rebel. Here we have some interesting word structures, "who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode," this is interesting because it shows something that is against the natural order that God has set, angels are meant to God messengers and loyal to him but in this phrase it is revealed that these angels abandoned this position.
Again it is not said on the nature of how this rebellion was taking place it just points to in reference in regards to the next part.
just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. Now we come the final portion of this scripture, to consider before the whole connection is made Sodom and Gomorrah is found in genesis 19; these places were so full of unrighteousness that God planned their destruction with the exception of lots family. Homosexuality was a rampant thing in these parts; and to God it was an unnatural thing and worthy of judgement; it was against his design for his people to live.
The key words in this are "gross immorality," and " went after strange flesh," now to the first point anything which is against Gods laws and precepts is not moral. Therefore, it is immoral. The second of the words "strange flesh" refers to something that is seen as being unnatural .. like same sex relations (Not unnatural to man; but unatural in regards to God creative purpose in man and wome and marriage).
Now for the connection in all of this, when you read this section we realise that Jude is making a strong point; that human who rebel , even angel are only in condemnation. And the judgment and penalty of this is just what they seek to fell there lives with the unnatural position; they rebel against God design and end up filthy in process by their living habits
