in a popular christian book called the purpose driven life -- rick warren made an easy to access religion of christianity by catering to mans sinful nature, in putting made first instead of God and his son Jesus "the Christ" -- the idea is that if you take a 40 day journey and by applying the principals -- you will becomw a christian. the book has many great ideas but here's the problem its a law based self help manual and campain even though he claims it not to be
in the whole book jesus is referred to as something inwhich you add onto your life -- its is kind of like joel osteen's style manual the only difference is that rick knows the bible and then distorts it to his desire ..its purpose is not to help your jouney as a believer -- even if its intent is suppose to do be doing this as the writer claims .. all it does is make a pharasee of its readers .. always looking for the next easy step... if you take this 40 day step and abide by the laws laid out -- with the chapters ranging from what am i here for ? chp . 1 -- to living with a purpose chp . 40

the gospel is not about doing a set of ritual laws its about what God in an act of grace done for us -- God sent his son to take our place in appeasing his fathers wrath which we totally deserve -- the only time he really mentions jesus is when he invite the reader to bow and pray -- "to say Jesus i believe in you and i recieve you .. if you said that prayer congrats -- welcome to the family of God" --- now note how simaliar joel osteens closing prayer is --- "lets invite jesus into our lives .. all you have to do is make him the lord of your life .. you are a child of the most high"

he states : the earthly body is only temperal but the eteral is an everlasting one .. earthly life offers many choices but the eternal one offers only two - heaven or hell, 2 ways Gods way or your way -- living in Gods love will change you and how you treat your relationships
he also states : only your time on earth will determine if you cross over .. if you love God, love jesus and put others needs ahead of your own then you'll be eternity, but if none of this matters then hell is your destination
ANSWER
in the above statements there is a true fact, but it is lost in the context of universalism and decietful tricks to be taken seriously -- for a start if we consider these two points
1 -- the earthly body is only temperal but the eteral is an everlasting one
2 -- only your time on earth will determine if you cross over
he is catering to universalism cause he has left out the most vital ingredient in christian faith for the first one to take place, and this ingredient is also what determine your final destination and not how you speand your time on earth .... his name is jesus .. only by his atoning sacrifice is one made complete and given the gift of eternal life
if you love God, love jesus and put others needs ahead of your own then you'll be eternity --- why is this important if you do not have the right person in veiw when you speak of jesus .. as we know this man prayed at presidents event in 2009 .. and used the name isa as well as jesus ..which means he has commited a bas error as isa is not jesus ... and he said jesus changed his life, no he did not he saved it sir
now for the true fact -- but if none of this matters then hell is your destination .. a -- none of what .. what you stated above, well it doesnt as its not biblically correct .. but for the next point b --- i agree that if you do not have the true jesus who died on the cross then the only place is hell
then in chapter 27 which is called defeating temptation
he states a simple 4 step programme to defeat temptation .. and as good as it may sound if you fall for this then satan has already won, simply because we can not overcome temptation on our own .. as he make out
--- refocus our attention on something else
--- reveal your struggle to a Godly friend
--- resist the devil
--- realise your vulnerability
do these step i submit its not defeating temptation its one hundred percent being tempted -- since when does focusing on something else prevent temptation .. it does not .. infact we alone shou ld be focus on christ as he defeated satan for us ... only satan uses tactic to take our attention from christ .. so point one is not helpful .. as it is what satan wants
point 2 --- is biblical .. but is it good is the only people u know happen to be fused with this p-- d -- l -- t. so while this advice is biblical it does not make a difference as your friend could be in the same false teaching as you -- point 3 ---- is not really helpful since human are not God and can not resist satan on our own will as that is what he want us to rely on our will, and as 4 state become vulnerable to his attacks
its funny rick start the chapter by making this statement .. God will not premit any temptation you could not overcome ... the point is humans are weak and will succome to temptation and if you follow this book you already are .. come back to christ who alone is our strong rock
